Dhansiri Tea Private Limited was established in 2021 and acquired Bokakhat Tea Estate in the same year. Bokakhat remains the sole tea estate of Dhansiri Tea Private Limited. The company's registered office is at Gattani Bhawan, Jorhat, Assam; the estate is at Bokakhat, in Golaghat district.
Bokakhat Tea Estate was established in 1877, giving it a heritage of nearly one and a half centuries. It has been a working Assam tea garden throughout, and entered a new chapter in 2021 under Dhansiri Tea Private Limited.
Approximately 1.6 million kilograms a year, across CTC and orthodox styles.
Both start with the same leaf; what separates them is what happens after withering. Orthodox manufacture rolls and twists the leaf so it stays whole, giving a more layered cup. CTC — crush, tear, curl — cuts the leaf into granules that brew fast and strong, which is what most milk tea needs. Bokakhat makes both.
They describe the leaf, not the quality of the drink. OP is Orange Pekoe — whole leaf. The F, T and G prefixes add Flowery, Tippy and Golden, meaning the lot carries more of the unopened bud that gives an Assam its golden tips; S adds Super and the numeral 1 marks the top of a grade. B is Broken: cut smaller, so it brews faster. Bokakhat's orthodox grades are STGFOP1, GTGFOP1, TGFOP, GFBOP and FBOP.

Bokakhat is in Golaghat district in Upper Assam, in close proximity to Kaziranga National Park, so most visitors are already in the area. Visits can be arranged by prior appointment — send an enquiry with the dates you have in mind.
